I don’t recall exactly why I even put this one on my list of things to watch. It was probably because Makki likes Tom Selleck. But then, most woman seem to like him. I also didn’t realize that this was a made for TV movie. In fact, I found that out as I was reading the jacket while loading the DVD player. My heart sank. Made for TV is rarely a good thing.

The movie is based upon a novel by Robert B. Parker. I have no idea who that is but if the movie is anything like his books he writes with a certain quirky humor that I could actually enjoy. Not that this is a funny movie, while there is some humor, mostly from the main character, it is a drama through and through. It is not a mystery as you find out very early in the film who the bad guys are, but it works well as it creates a nice element of rapport between them and Selleck’s character.

If you are looking for a moderately humorous, nonstressful drama to waste a bit of time you could do much worse than this one.
