A Certain Lack of Movies
Wednesday, February 21st, 2007Yes yes. I know I said that the reviews would start rolling like normal again. Well, I was wrong. That’s right, you just heard me admit to being wrong. Don’t get used to it as next time I’ll just use some spin and blame it on something else.
But, since this is a new update, you know there must be a film review out there someplace. You would be correct. In fact, I have another one already in the works so there should be one next week as well.
The problem has been two fold. The main reason has been a lack of movies showing up from Netfilx. It seems that I forgot to go in and maintain my list and we have received a number of TV shows instead. No movies, no reviews. The other problem has been the TV itself. Most of our viewing was done on Friday nights and we have gotten hooked on some terrible shows.
The Learning Channel has this show called Take Home Chef that we find fairly entertaining. The Australian chef goes to the grocery store and picks up a person (normally a relatively cute girl but not always) and cooks for her and one other person of her choice.
Then on NBC there is 1 vs 100. Yes, it is a silly game show. I like quiz style game shows though and this one has a nice element where you play against a group of people. They win or you do.
After that come Las Vegas. This show has a number of redeeming qualities. Humor, action and attractive girls. How can you go wrong?
After all that is done, it is often a bit late to watch a movie.
